How to monitor Windows Server resources (CPU/RAM/Disk)

Setup & Configuration

A healthy VPS is always better than a frozen one. Trading tools consume resources and as they are added to the VPS, their need for resources increases.
A good rule of thumb is to always have a maximum of 80% CPU usage or Memory or RAM (Rapid Access Memory) used on the VPS to ensure its reliability and consistent behaviour during active market hours.

To check the values on CPU and RAM usage, Task Manager is the built-in tool we recommend. You don’t need to install anything as it’s installed by default on every Windows Server System. To open it, double-click the “Task Manager” shortcut on the VPS desktop or hold CTRL+SHIFT+ESC on the keyboard.

Task Manager is a great tool that you can use to monitor the usage of your CPU, Disk, Network, and Memory (RAM) in real-time. For a more detailed real-time description of each component, the Performance tab can be checked:

Always remember to check on your VPS resources if you notice it a bit slower than usual or if you are planning on adding more platforms, EAs, charts or an indicator or two.
